Music & Media’s program contents to expand into Art Music

This year, Music & Media invests in the art music program with a number of seminar content. This is the first time that a seminar program concentrating purely on the art music scene has been part of the event.

– Music & Media is a platform for the entire music industry and classical and contemporary music sector plays an important role. That’s the very reason we started crafting a relevant and exciting discussions shaped around art music scene together with Music Finland, so we can have a great representation of the music ecosystem in Tampere in October this year, says Elif Tähtinen, CEO of Music & Media.

Panel discussions and speeches include for example subjects around internationalization and what it means in the art music field. We’ll also discuss the importance of international tours for orchestras and bands and their role in the future, in addition to topics related to equality and cultural policy-making.

The art music program is mainly organized on the second seminar day, Friday October 4th. In addition to art music related seminars, Music & Media program also includes, among other things, conversations on songwriting, management of large cultural and entertainment institutions, artists and stars, as well as equality, diversity and discrimination in the music industry.

The program of art music is implemented in cooperation with Music Finland, one of the partners of Music & Media, that also produces the international part of the seminar program. Annually, the international program gathers a large number of music professionals around the world.

More information about the program and speakers will be published during the summer, stay tuned!
