We would like to send the Nordics off to their Midsummer break with truly exciting news: Diane Quinn, Chief Creative Officer for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group will be heading to Tampere in October to speak at Music & Media 2019!
As its Chief Creative Officer, Diane is responsible with the artistic and creative interests of Cirque du Soleil’s subsidiaries, namely VStar Entertainment Group, Cirque Dreams, Blue Man Group and The Works Entertainment. She also supervises the quality of all Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group shows currently in operation. In addition to overseeing the Costume Workshops and Casting & Performance teams, she is responsible for all global innovation initiatives through Nextasy, Cirque du Soleil’s Innovation Laboratory.
A veteran of the arts and entertainment scene, she has spent more than two decades crafting, seeing, reviewing and managing various art forms on six continents. Diane’s positions prior to joining Cirque include Founding Producer of Soulpepper Theatre Company and Festival of Classics, Coordinator of the Arts Administration Program at the University of Toronto, and Executive Director of Toronto Women in Film and Television. Diane was the Executive Director of the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) and the Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University.
Diane joined Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group in 2004 and held a series of positions of increasing responsibility ever since. She has spoken at several international conferences, most notably SXSW 2019, C2 Montreal and ISPA, and she is now making her way to speak at Music & Media in Tampere!
Since its founding in 1984, Cirque du Soleil has reinvented circus arts and has become the leading live entertainment and theatrical producer globally. In her interview Diane will take over the Music & Media stage to give her insight on creative strategy, leadership and working with vast amount of outstandingly talented people for breathtaking productions at Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.
