The Music & Media 2020 International Day will offer a wide range of international music industry speakers to get you inspired on November 26th!
Our next keynote speaker we have the honour to introduce is Laura Karpman. She is a veteran film composer with a versatile background of composing music to not only films, but also to theater, opera and video games. Karpman has won four Emmy Awards for her work, having for example Steven Spielberg’s Emmy-winning miniseries Taken among her credits. In 2020, she was hired to compose the score for the Marvel Studios animated anthology series What If…?. Laura will talk about maintaining one’s own voice not only in Hollywood productions, but in opera and video games at the same time. She will tell us how to use art as an engine for change.
The interview will be conducted by Kaisa Rönkkö, the Executive Director of Music Finland. She is a passionate leader driven by the power of music, strives to develop the international dialogue and innovation between talent, business and new technologies. She previously worked at Finnish National Opera and Ballet, Public Information Division of the Defence Command Finland and Fazer Artist Management Inc.
